C3iHub Successfully Completed Specialized OT Cybersecurity Training for Ministry of Power Professionals
C3iHub recently conducted an intensive and highly specialized training program for 31 Operational Technology (OT) professionals from various organizations under the Ministry of Power, Government of India.

This hands-on program was thoughtfully designed to address the distinct cybersecurity challenges faced in OT environments within the power sector — a critical component of national infrastructure.

Key Technical Highlights:

🔹 Cybersecurity Fundamentals & Frameworks
Covered core concepts including the CIA Triad, IT vs. OT security paradigms, Cyber Kill Chain, ICS Kill Chain, and convergence challenges.
🔹 Power Sector Threat Landscape
Analyzed OT-specific vulnerabilities, evolving attack vectors, and threat scenarios targeting power systems.
🔹 Standards & Compliance
Practical training on ISO 27001, NIST CSF & SP 800-82, IEC/ISA 62443 series, IEC 62351, NERC CIP, and CEA guidelines — with implementation insights and maturity assessments.
🔹 OT Networking & Protocols
Explored industrial networking fundamentals — including OSI layers, TCP/UDP in OT contexts, and industrial protocols like Modbus, IEC 61850 (GOOSE, MMS, SV), DNP3, and IEC 104.
🔹 Protocol Security
Deep dive into GOOSE protocol structure, common vulnerabilities, and mitigations aligned with IEC 62351.
🔹 Cybersecurity Operations & Forensics
Training in digital forensics SOPs, EDR/XDR, network traffic analysis (NTA), and anomaly detection for OT environments.
🔹 ICS Risk & Attack Surface Assessment
Simulated vulnerabilities across ICS components like PLCs, HMIs, and RTUs — guided by IEC 62443-2-1, -3-2, -3-3, and -4-2 guidelines.

Empowering Cyber Resilience in the Power Sector

This program represents a pivotal step in fortifying India’s power sector cybersecurity by equipping OT professionals with real-world technical skills and deep domain knowledge. Through interactive sessions, simulations, and case-based learning, participants gained the capabilities needed to secure and sustain critical infrastructure.

C3iHub extends its sincere appreciation to all participants for their active engagement and dedication to strengthening cybersecurity in India’s energy systems.
